Early Life Enterprise employs a small group of teachers, youth workers and vocational tutors who each bring unique experiences, qualifications and perspective to the classroom. Our education staff have decades of experience working within the AP and SEMH sector. Our team is dedicated to empowering today’s youth by facilitating access to the world of work. We utilize valuable connections with a diverse range of businesses in South Yorkshire to provide students with meaningful work placements and vocational workshops.
Charlotte has dedicated the past 12 years to the SEMH sector, including five years as Assistant Head Teacher at a Sheffield SEMH Special School before co-founding Early Life Enterprise. A skilled curriculum designer, she holds an NPQSL and a PGCE with QTS.
Passionate about ensuring young people have the best opportunities to succeed and fulfil their potential, Charlotte works every day with warmth and dedication, applying trauma-informed and nurture-based principles.

Ian’s journey began in his early twenties as an professional boxer, before moving into a career in security across Sheffield, providing door supervision and training others in the field. Guided by a strong desire to give back to his community, he has always been passionate about helping young people access high-quality work experience and clear pathways into employment.
During three years of volunteering and working at Sheffield Inclusion Centre, Ian discovered how much he enjoyed supporting its work experience programme. This experience inspired him to think bigger, creating a more comprehensive and tailored approach for the students he worked with. From that vision, Early Life Enterprise was born.
Today, Ian leads on work experience, workshops, and employer engagement, building a secure, supportive, and inspiring environment where every student can thrive.
During your time at ELE, you will have the pleasure of interacting with our team of dedicated staff members. Sajaad is a trauma-informed practitioner with over ten years’ experience working with some of the most vulnerable children in Sheffield. Before joining Early Life Enterprise, he served as Base Lead at Clocktower, a specialist in-house alternative provision for Sheffield Inclusion. His work focused on re-engaging children who had stopped attending school or were persistently absent, creating a safe space to meet their individual needs and help them return to learning.
Throughout his career, Sajaad has worked with some of the most complex cases, young people whose social, emotional, and mental health needs have made mainstream schooling unsafe. Many have experienced early childhood trauma, and some have been in care. By creating a safe, nurturing, and welcoming environment, Saj has helped these students not only re-engage with education but also begin to flourish.
Changing the lives of young people is, and always has been, the driving force behind his work, a dedication that makes him an integral part of the ELE team.
You will often see our vocational tutors at ELE. They all come with a wealth of knowledge in different vocational sectors and are committed to passing on their knowledge and encouraging young people to develop trades. These tutors run fortnightly sessions in the afternoons for small groups of students who are interested in potentially going on to college, apprenticeships or employment in the trades.
