KS3 Intervention programme

KS3 Intervention programme

Our KS3 days are Monday and Friday.

Our KS3 Intervention Programme at ELE supports students in Years 7, 8, and 9 who need extra help to develop strong foundations in learning and personal development. The programme focuses on early reading, writing, and maths, ensuring every student has the skills to succeed academically.

We combine academic support with social and emotional learning using the Zones of Regulation framework. This helps students understand and manage their emotions, build self-awareness, and improve interactions with peers and adults.

Practical, hands-on learning is central to the programme. Students participate in fortnightly cooking sessions and a variety of enrichment activities, including park visits, Peak District walks, travel training, new experiences, and self-sufficiency sessions. These activities develop life skills, independence, teamwork, and confidence, while giving students the opportunity to apply classroom learning in real-world contexts.

Our approach is individualised and nurturing, tailored to meet each student’s needs in a safe and supportive environment. By the end of the programme, students are not only more confident in their reading, writing, and maths, but also better equipped to regulate their emotions, engage positively with learning, and build the social and practical skills needed to thrive both in school and beyond.
